History
Born in the year 1205 to an Irish noblewoman who disappeared shortly after her birth, and a Norman father, Walter deLacy, Katherine spent her childhood at Carrickfergus Castle where her father was the warder. When she was old enough, he packed her off to Whitby Abbey, to study scribal arts amongst the nuns there. It was also a period of strife in Northern Ireland, and her father felt that she would be safer at the Abbey. At the age of sixteen, she returned to the Castle where she met a wandering Scot, Randle (Ian Gartloch), who was employed as a castle guard. The two soon married and settled down to raise a family.
