Boast for Nasira al-Zarqa bint Ivaz's elevation to the Order of the Pelican, written by Friedrich Wolferam von Danzig.

(Based off 15thC Ottoman poetry, particularly the work of Mihri Hatun)

Ask not the tulip to bloom in spring, behold still its beauty

Ask not the Nar fruit to bear its seeds, count them a surety

The sun marks the day, split ‘tween black and bright, order shown plainly:

Nature acts but to its own nature, it needs not bid thusly

So too serves loyal Nasira, of selfsame virtue is she

As swan finds the water unprompted, she bore it ardently

Both Treasure and Heart of the Dragon, life’s work of aid with glee

With grace gives her time alike to Grace, Noble, Excellency—The latter herself, for long labors of Royal quality

Tears, sweat, and blood shed for Kingdom, marked thus with a gout sanguis

Yet boon past Midrealm borders is her aid to Society,

War-time dealer in devotion, spreading opportunity

To hearts and hands both young and eager, that others might not see

Then further still, to all like-natured, who’d serve any degree

Nasira al-Zarqa bint Ivaz comes now ‘fore Majesty

This swan soon re-wing’d with new feathers, as Peer in Piety
