Derian was not an [[Apprentice|apprentice]]. He has been involved in moneyer's guilds in various kingdoms, as well as the Inter-Kingdom Moneyer's Guild for over a decade. As a guild apprentice and journeyman, he studied under the late [http://antir.sca.wiki/index.php?title=Ian_Cnulle Master Ian Cnulle], who was elevated to the Order of the Laurel on the same day that Derian was made a Fellow of the [http://antir.sca.wiki/index.php?title=Moneyers_Guild Moneyer's Guild of An Tir].
