1. The Lord or Lady Heir are the equivalent of the Prince or Princess of a Kingdom, but for a Principality. When the reigning Prince and Princess step down, the Lord and Lady Heir take are crowned the new Prince and Princess in a Coronation ceremony.
2. The term is also used generically to refer to a Prince or Princess.
