Aethon Herald

The regional herald for the administrative region of South Oaken which is comprised of the lower west corner of Ohio (Dayton and Cincinnati) and central and west Kentucky (Lexington, Louisville, and south to the border with Tennessee).

Office

Regional Herald for the South Oaken region, which includes the Baronies of Flaming Gryphon, Fenix, and Flame, and the Shires of Dragonsmark, Okenshield, and Aurea Ripae.

Before they were split into North Oaken and South Oaken, the whole of the Oaken Region was covered by the Oaken Herald (all Ohio and the MidRealm section of Kentucky). At one time, the Acanthus Herald was the assistant to the Aethon Herald.

The word Aethon is from Ancient Greek and means "bright, shining, or burning", which is appropriate for the 3 Baronies in South Oaken! There are a few different creatures in mythology named Aethon - one was part of the team of horses that pulled the chariot of Helios.
