1. A band worn over the shoulder, usually of fabric though examples exist of leather or other materials. Frequently a display of a position. For example Ladies in Waiting will wear a baldric when they are on duty. A Baronial Champion may wear a baldric with the arms of his/her barony if that is the tradition of that barony.
2. A White Baldric is worn by a Master of Arms, this is also a heraldic charge that is restricted to masters.
