About
The Marche of Flaming Sword was one of the first shires of the Barony of Flaming Gryphon, and one of the Shires given permission to use "Marche" in their name by Baron Galan de Reynard since the new barony was formed out of territory belonging to the Barony of Middle Marches. It was centered around Middletown, OH, but went dormant in the late 1990s.

The name March of the Flaming Sword was registered with the SCA College of Heralds in October 1979.
The heraldic device was registered August of 1990.
