Is there a reason we are using this instead of the native Navbox Template?

Answer (Dai): There's not really a "native" Navbox because there's no package of templates that comes with an instance of MediaWiki (per stackoverflow, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/678626/where-can-i-get-templates-for-mediawiki) We need to export templates from MediaWiki or another source and import them into this instance. Right now, we've found that importing from the old Middlewiki is likely a Bad Thing due to many, MANY changes in versions since that version. We're investigating importing these templates from MediaWiki or Wikipedia once some updated requirements like scripting are in place.

I have noticed that the templates themselves may or may not be much different than the new ones - what we see when we look at them is that the *documentation* templates are significantly different and thus are completely hosed.
