The term Consort usually denotes some sort of romantic relationship; however this is not necessarily so. 1. The inspiration ([[lady]] or [[lord]]) of an [[armored combatant]]. 2. The [[sovereign]] who [[reign]]s other than by [[right of arms]]. 3. The romantic partner of one member of a ceremonial couple; for example the wife of the local [[Baron]] who is a different person than the Baroness. The Baron and Baroness are a couple for ceremonial purposes while they may only be good friends and each have thier own consorts. [[Category:Titles]]
